General things you may find interesting

Uninstall Questionnaire
- "I recently download some shareware which had a questionnaire which popped up when I uninstalled the program.  I was really impressed, it's a great way to gain feedback, I think the key is not to make it sound compulsory, not to put people off. Anyways, so I set one up myself, I had to use QSetup, as MSI's don't cater for it!"

PayPal IPN
- "PayPal Instant Payment Notification is a great way to take all the effort out of selling your software.  You setup an account, modify one of their scripts to send out your unlock codes, and hey presto".

QSetup
- "This is a great alternative setup program, you don't have to use it with DotNet either.  It's got so many things you can change, you can create a heavily customized solution.  It's free too.  Also available in lots of different languages."

Cold Coding Problems
This is a growing area, if you have a problem post it there!!

Reciprocal Testing
A few of us have grouped together and tested / provided feedback about each others software.  If you've ever had another programmer test your software you'll know how useful this can be.  Saves a lot of time explaining things too.

Have you got a Marketing Plan??
This is a real pet hate for programmers, we just want to get on with the coding and forget the help files, selling the product.  I mean we've developed the software, people should just find it and buy it.  If only! We have devised a questionnaire, which will make you think about your business / software.  It's also a great thing to get other people to do on your behalf.  You'd be surprised how different people think different.

Most of ALL

The idea behind the DotNet Shareware Forum was to meet people, share ideas and help each other.

So if you need help ASK!

I'm sure most of us (me included) would be happy to test your software, if you tested ours in return!

And a message from our sponsors
That's me plugging our software. :)

A new version of Ideaspad is out, it allows you create your own information system, create some HTML Forms which are used to provide structure to your information.

I hope to have a new version of MDBSecure out soon too!

Well that's all for now.
Probably will be a few months before there's another!

Jules.
