Microsoft Access databases (MDB) are designed to be easy to use and access. Therefore it is assumed that any security provided with be made by the user. Also security will be provided by other means. It is understandable that users don't need security for thier access databases as they can provide security via their access to the computer systems themselves.
The Microsoft Access application provides feature which you can use to provide security. However these features aren't easy to use to provide maximum protections.
For this reason Microsoft has produced the SECFAQ (Security FAQ) for Microsoft Access Databases, to provide access database developers with the information required to provide security for their databases.
However, the process described in the SECFAQ is quite complicated and time consuming.
MDBSecure has been developed to provide this security in an easy to use tool. Basically the program turns on features and tweaks the MDB files to provide maximum protection. Just think instead os spendind 20 minutes everytime you secure a database, it could take you 1 minute while you having your coffee.
But thats no all.
MDBSecure also you to create a super user and encrypt your MDB. Also, the program provides a basic table import tool.
Just think how much time MDBSecure will save you.
As a bonus, if your an application programmer, MDBSecure creates JET Connections string for you!
